Tennessee Admission Requirements

Ready to Get Started?

To enroll in the iteach Tennessee program, you must provide documentation of the following:

A BACHELOR’S DEGREE

Your degree must be from a regionally accredited institution of higher education as required by the Tennessee Department of Education.

This will be determined in one of the following ways:

MINIMUM 2.75 GRADE POINT AVERAGE
(or 3.00 in the last 60 hours)

This will be determined in one of the following ways:

  • Minimum 2.75 GPA (your undergraduate GPA as posted on conferred degree transcript), or
  • Minimum 3.00 GPA in last 60 hours. Click here for a calculator (requires Microsoft Excel)

Your graduating GPA must be calculated and posted by the university on your official transcripts. If your final transcript does not reflect a graduation GPA, you will need to contact your college Registrar’s office to have a letter typed on university letterhead that includes your GPA sent in with your official transcripts.

Applicants must also:

  • Have a personal e-mail account and access to a personal (not school) computer.
  • Add iteach.net to your contacts list.
  • Demonstrate professionalism during all written correspondence and oral communication with iteach Tennessee.

Did you graduate outside the United States?

Out-of-Country Academic Transcript Evaluation from the Tennessee Department of Education

Educators submitting transcripts from institutions outside of the U.S. must submit original, course-by-course transcript evaluations of all degrees held, accompanied by copies of the transcripts evaluated.

Academic Evaluation Services

The list of academic evaluation services below are approved by the office of educator licensure and preparation. Though other companies may provide eligible evaluations, any company not appearing on the following list must be approved by the department in advance, which may result in significant delays in processing the application.
