Teacher Certification Application
The first step is to complete the online application and submit official undergraduate transcripts to the iteach admissions office.
Teacher Certification Enrollment
Once you have applied and submitted the required admission documents, you may enroll in the program. You are immediately provided access to your first online course.
iteach Louisiana offers seven online instructional courses that are designed to prepare you to be an excellent classroom teacher. The courses are self-paced; you can log in to complete them at any time, from anywhere.
The courses are written by experienced education experts and are designed to be teacher-friendly and practical. Each course is taken in sequence. You cannot begin your next course until your current one is complete.
Note: The timing of program completion is up to you. However, once you are hired as the teacher of record, the payment plan will run 10 months (the length of a typical school year).
Praxis II Subject Exams
iteach Louisiana offers initial certification in over 35 different areas. Your passing Praxis II scores are what determine your area of certification.
To learn more about the exams and verify correct test number please visit the ETS website. Please note that while there are additional Praxis exams listed on the ETS website we can only assist with certification in the areas listed below.
Early Childhood Elementary Middle School High School All Level Special Education Note: You must pass a Praxis II exam in Math, English, Social Studies, or Science first in order to be eligible to enter a field experience for Special Education. Elementary candidates must pass all 4 sections of test 5001. Refer to the Special Education page on our website for additional information.
Training with iteach Louisiana begins immediately upon enrollment. You can complete the following online, competency-based courses at your own pace (any time, anywhere).

Get hired to teach
Upon enrollment into the program and completion of the pre-hire requirements, you are eligible to apply, interview, and be hired!
Once hired, you will submit your Plan of Study to complete a two semester paid residency during which time you are employed full time as a teacher in your field (the area in which you passed Praxis II). In this position, you receive the salary and benefits of a first-year teacher.
How to prepare for residency
You must secure your own residency position through the district application/interview process. Prior to interviewing, you are required to complete the pre-hire courses (TEPC 5000 through TEPC 5300) and pass the PRAXIS II.
You may obtain a job placement in any public school, charter school, or Louisiana Department of Education recognized private school.
Supervision during residency
During the residency placement, you will be assigned an iteach Louisiana field supervisor who will make periodic classroom visits and work closely with the campus administration to ensure a successful teaching experience for you.

Simple Payment Plan
Our program is $99 to enroll and $99 a month while you are taking your coursework. Once you begin your two-semester field experience your payments will increase. We take the balance of your account and divide it into 8-10 equal interest-free monthly payments during your field experience.
We have partnered with Passage Preparation and the Teaching Channel so you have access to both resources as part of your iteach payment plan for teacher certification.
